Richard S. Sheeley

Attorney Sheeley is the firm's Managing Partner, an equity partner, and a trial lawyer with considerable experience earned over twenty-five (25) years of litigating civil claims stemming from contracts and commercial transactions, personal injuries caused by automobile and other accidents, and perhaps most notably, divorce and child custody matters. Richard's commitment to his clients and their goals is evident in the results of his efforts, whether he is representing individuals in the most sensitive and emotional issues affecting their family or representing business and institutional clients in financial disputes.
Richard has a well-deserved reputation for perseverance and enthusiastic representation of his clients. While committed to obtaining the best result for his client, Richard is mindful of the shortcomings of the adversarial process, and he values the client's role in shaping the outcome of each case. Richard's zealous advocacy keeps his clients, their families, friends and business associates returning to our firm.
Attorney Sheeley handles cases in all Connecticut courts, including the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and various Probate Courts. He regularly serves as a Special Master for family matters pending before the Connecticut Superior Court.
Born and raised in New Haven, Attorney Sheeley completed his undergraduate studies at Hofstra University graduating from the Honors Program with the distinction of Magna Cum Laude. He received his Law degree from the George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C., where he was the recipient of the Samuel Green Scholarship awarded in recognition of academic achievement and demonstrated leadership qualities. Attorney Sheeley is admitted to the Connecticut Bar and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut. He is an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut and Middlesex County Bar Associations. Richard is active in the local business communities of Middletown and Old Saybrook where the firm has offices.
